Still Am Studios
us.

Someday deserves the chance to become today.

People don’t dream about deliverables. They dream about the home they love coming back to. They dream about the business that finally looks like something they’re proud to put their name on. They dream about the perfect room – not an itemized list of the pieces in it. They dream about the branded space that finally feels like it’s their own – not logo files and pantone colors. They dream about the ideas and the hopes that they want to see come to life or figure out or see done – they just haven’t quite gotten there yet. They dream about someday.

Still Am Studios exists to help make those things real.

We think. We design. We create. The combination might change with a certain job. The how never does.

Built for the long game

Matt Frate is Metro Atlanta born and raised. He grew up here, built a life here, and spent more than a decade building an award-winning career leading branding, communications, and creative work for big companies and iconic brands. That experience gave him the chance to learn from some of the most talented marketers in the world and be part of shaping the big ideas that bring brands to life.

It also showed him where the model tended to break down. Again and again, the work was divided into pieces: one group shaped the strategy, another designed it, another produced it, and someone else was left to make it all work in the real world. It wasn’t necessarily bad work. It was simply the way things were done. But people don’t experience brands, homes, or businesses in pieces. They experience the whole thing at once. And the closer Matt got to the places where ideas actually met real life, the clearer the gap between thinking and doing became.

Most available solutions were organized around picking a lane. Matt kept imagining a better road altogether.

And if you’ve ever met Matt, you know he doesn’t really do half measures.

So Still Am Studios became the whole measure, pairing his professional background with a foundation formed long ago in the workshops of his father and grandfather. The goal was to bring those things together and use his own mix of experience, skill, curiosity, and craft to make real things for real people, right here. A place where strategic thinking, creative design, and craftsmanship all belong to the same job. Where the work is designed and made close to home, for the homes and businesses where it can actually become part of everyday life.

A place where an idea can be thought through strategically, designed with intention, and carried far enough to become something you can walk into, sit at, hold, wear, use, share, or hand down.

That was a vision worth building.

At its most basic level, Still Am Studios is Matt’s own version of someday getting its chance to become today.

And he hasn’t stopped building it since.

Made for real in Canton - GA

Our workshop sits on Hickory Log Mountain in Canton, Georgia. This is where a lot of the thinking turns physical: lumber gets milled, finishes get tested, signs get mocked up, shirts get pressed, prototypes get broken, fixed, and made better.

And much of the work does not travel very far from there.

It’s a community we are part of. We live here. We get to drive past the sign. See the table in the room it was made for. Go to the businesses we build stuff for. Watch things get used, arranged and lived with. There is a different kind of accountability when the work stays close enough to home that you’ll encounter it again.

We want to make things worth keeping and help make our community a more beautiful, useful, interesting place to live.

For home.
For business.
Same philosophy.

The best homes feel personal and unmistakably yours. We help shape the rooms, furniture, and details around how your family actually lives, then make the pieces that bring it together.

Home

The best businesses feel like themselves everywhere. We help define what the brand should be, then carry it into the space, signs, furniture, content, apparel, packaging, and the other places customers actually meet it.

True believers in a system

We’d never ask you to trust a process we didn’t believe in enough to run on ourselves. How our brand comes to life will look different from how yours does, but the approach and structure beneath remain the same: a brand that is unique, authentic, and robust enough to come to life beyond just a presentation.

What we’re made of

Our values

Hand holding a chisel

Rebel spirit

We do not follow convention for the sake of it. If the default is getting in the way of a better answer, we will find another way.

Runningback heart

The highlight reel runs and unglamorous blocking are both part of the job. When the game is on the line, no need to ask who wants the ball.

Hand holding a saw

Artist soul

It’s part of our job to bring beauty into our community—and we take that seriously. Every detail matters because how something feels is just as important as how it functions.

The way we work

Dream. Design. Do.

Every project is different. The process should not feel mysterious. You should know what we are doing, why we are doing it, what happens next, and when.

Dream.

We start with what you are actually trying to make happen: who it is for, what needs to change, how it should feel, how it needs to work, and what a good outcome looks like. If all you know is “this isn’t working,” that is enough to start.

Design.

We turn that into a pitch you can actually react to and a plan we can actually execute. Real dimensions. Real samples. Real finishes. Real materials. Real costs and timelines. We do not hide behind a mood board when the actual thing can be put in your hand.

Do.

Then we get to work. Cut it. Build it. Print it. Film it. Paint it. Install it. Whatever the project calls for. This is where the plan has to survive contact with reality, and where keeping the thinking and making connected earns its keep.
