Custom woodwork in Canton, GA for one-off wood projects, odd room problems, display pieces, repairs, shelves, panels, and useful builds that don't come from a catalog.
01
Custom woodwork usually starts with a sentence like, 'I don't know what to call this, but I need it to work.' That's fine. We look at the idea, the space, the use, the load, and the finish, then turn the rough need into a buildable plan.
What shapes the work
02
Not every project is furniture, cabinetry, or trim. Sometimes it's a wood panel for a business, a small display, a repair, a shelf that has to clear something, or a piece that solves a strange corner. We like those jobs because they ask for both thinking and making.
03
Still Am Studios is based in Canton, and many projects come from homes and businesses close enough that we know the roads, neighborhoods, and building quirks. That local eye helps when a project needs practical judgment, not just a pretty drawing.
04
We begin with the space and the way you use it. For custom woodwork, that usually means checking the measurements, traffic paths, wall conditions, storage needs, seating or working height, and the objects that need to fit. From there we sketch the shape, choose real materials, decide the finish, and build a clear plan before the shop work starts.
Place and purpose
The room, the region, and the finished job all have a say in the way the piece is built.
05
Most projects start in Canton, then reach into Woodstock, Roswell, Milton, and Cherokee County. Some pieces go into new homes near Riverstone or Hickory Flat. Others go into older rooms around Woodstock or Roswell where the walls aren't perfectly square and the trim has a story. The location changes the measurements, install plan, and finish choices.
06
Canton sits between older Georgia homes, fast-growing neighborhoods, working farms, lake traffic, local shops, and new office spaces. That mix creates rooms that rarely fit one standard answer. A good custom build has to respect humidity, busy family routines, varied architecture, and the way people here use garages, mudrooms, porches, kitchens, and home offices.
07
The finished piece should do more than look custom. It should make the room easier to live in, give the right things a place to land, hold up to repeated use, and feel like it was always meant to be there. That's the standard we use when we check proportions, hardware, finish, delivery, and installation.
The process
01
We start with photos, rough measurements, and a real conversation about how the piece needs to work before we talk about finish or style.
02
We sort the dimensions, wood, storage, joinery, hardware, and finish so the plan is clear before a single board is cut.
03
The work is built by hand in the Canton shop, then delivered or installed where it has to live and hold up.
Common questions
Start with photos, rough dimensions, how the room is used, and what isn't working. Still Am Studios uses that information to clarify the scope, then follows up with questions about design, materials, installation, and timing before the woodwork shop work begins.
The shop is based in Canton and regularly plans work for homes and businesses in Woodstock, Roswell, Milton, Cherokee County, and metro Atlanta. Wider projects can begin with photos, dimensions, and a remote conversation before delivery or installation is planned.
Yes. Each custom woodwork project is planned around the room, dimensions, use, material, and finish. Still Am Studios doesn't treat it as a fixed catalog item. The exact scope is agreed before fabrication begins.
Send photos of the space, rough measurements, inspiration, what the finished piece needs to hold or do, and any timing or budget constraints. A rough sketch is welcome, but a polished plan isn't required.
